Product / ProcessControl

Acorn Welding utilizes a state-of-the-art ERP-MRP solution to fully control your product, processes, and requirements. Each Customer process and corresponding work instructions are set up in our system. All drawings, specifications, tooling, and individual part requirements are loaded into the corresponding item configuration. Our ERP-MRP solution ensures full material traceability from time of receipt all the way to delivery of the part.

Welding Lab

Our Certified in-house lab allows us to prepare, etch, and AWS D17.1 LATEST REVISION. Having this capability in-house not only allows us to reduce the lead time on weld schedule validation but also allows us to fine tune the welding process to reduce the number of weld rejects.

Our Metallurgical Lab utilizes EDM cutting equipment to accurately cut and prepare weld samples for metallurgical examination. A certified etching process is used to enhance the weld features to ensure sufficient weld penetration is present. A Calibrated Computer assisted digital microscope is used to measure and record the results. Results are validated by 3rd parties where required.
